Why Does the App add a 4 Letter Prefix to the Sku's?

For example the Fragola product Sku 960002-BL loads in as GBXR_960002-BL.



This occurs because brands do not always have unique sku's from each other, and sku's must be unique in Shopify. To rectify this issue, we use the Autocare standard for brand codes, and prefix the manufacturers brand code to the sku, which ensures all sku's are unique between brands. This allows us to merge data from the catalogs, distributors, and other sources. The original part number is included as a tag on the product in Shopify, and can also be shown on the product page.
