Managing Turn 14 Product Categorization in Your Store

Modified on Mon, 28 Jul at 9:23 AM

The Turn 14 app automatically loads products into the store, creates Shopify collections, and sorts the products into them using the Turn 14 category structure. If you’d prefer not to use the default Turn 14 category structure, you’ve got flexible options in the app settings to organize products your way.

  • Disable Categorization Entirely
Turn off “Enable Turn 14 Distribution Categories” (Top setting) to load products without categories. You can then organize them manually using:

    • Product tags
    • Shopify Smart Collections
    • Custom manual sorting

  • Use Initial Categorization, Then Customize
Keep categorization enabled at first to let the app assign initial categories. Then:

    • Turn off Category Sync (bottom setting)
    • Move products from the original categories into your preferred structure
    • Maintain full control without future automatic updates

This approach gives you the flexibility to match your store’s existing organization without being locked into Turn 14’s defaults.
