When you click ‘send tracking info’ does the API automatically send tracking info to the customer? What does the email look like?
That's correct, it is automated. Shopify handles the email for us, the email templates can be edited within the Shopify admin. Here is a link: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/fulfillment/setup/order-status-page/setting-up-order-status-updates#step-1-set-up-your-email-templates.
